The improvement of mathematics instruction has been a focus area for the Cambridge Public Schools in recent years, and MCAS 2010 results indicate that we continue to make noteworthy gains. While the district is reassured by these gains, we recognize that there is more to be done to satisfy the needs of all learners in mathematics.

The CPS Math Department, in collaboration with district leaders and elementary school principals, has designed a 2010-11 school year program to provide extra algebra instruction for those students who are ready for it while also providing supports in critical pre-algebraic skills for students who need them.
